SHOW DAY AT NEWMARKET THEATRE –Tuesday, June 15 – (see following detailed instructions).  We are still in need of a few backstage volunteers for the shows.  Please leave your name with Karen or in the office.

The theatre will be cleared out between the two separate shows.
A videographer at the theatre will record all performances.  ORDER FORMS are in the office to be filled out; please order by June 19, so that we may process orders quickly.  One copy is $30.00.

There will be a flower vendor set up in the theatre lobby on both evenings.

Please make sure the dancer’s name is inside on all costume parts so that nothing goes missing.

Hair:  For Picture Day and all show numbers, dancers will wear their hair in a bun with a right side part.  If you wish assistance or demonstration in advance of photo day and show week, please ask Karen.  Hair help the days of the photos or shows is difficult at best.

Early Registration:  We continue to take registration throughout the summer, but in order to assist in setting up classes, receiving these forms by June 19, will help organize class lists, and ensure a spot for your dancer. Class schedules are usually mailed during July.

Wed & Thurs., Sept 8 & 9, 4 – 8 p.m., at the studio

Performance Expectations/Theatre Rules (PLEASE KEEP AND READ)

MINI SHOWCASE:  (Saturday dancers and 7/8 classes)
Showtime 6:00 p.m.,  Tuesday June 15
THEATRE ARRIVAL (INCLUDING DRESS REHEARSAL) – PLEASE ARRIVE AT THEATRE 4:15 P.M. SHARP
Please enter the theater by the Stage Door (west end of building).  There will be no entrance through main doors.
Please send dancers in costume with hair in a bun and all dance shoes in a bag.  If your dancer has more than one number, please arrive in their first costume of the show (programme order will be posted at studio)
Saturday dancers will sit with teachers & volunteers in audience for the show.  Weekday dancers (7/8) will be backstage in dressing areas.
Doors to the public will open ½ hour before the show; no parents are allowed in the theatre before this time.
After the finale, parents can pick up dancers from their teacher on stage; remember to collect all their belongings. Thanks.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY FOOD WITH YOUR DANCER.  FEED THEM WELL BEFORE ARRIVAL AND AFTER THE PERFORMANCE.  THERE IS NO TIME OR PLACE FOR A SNACK.  THANK YOU.

RECITAL:  (Weekday dancers – 9+ classes)
Showtime 8:00 p.m., Tuesday June 15
All dancers must arrive at the Stage door (west end of building) between 7:15 & 7:30 p.m. SHARP.
All dancers WILL REMAIN BACKSTAGE DURING THE ENTIRE PERFORMANCE.  Dancers do not join the audience at any time during the recital; we cannot run a successful performance with added traffic through the backstage area.  Dancers can be picked up at the end of the performance through the Stage Door, which remains closed until performance end. Please make appropriate arrangements and accommodations for your dancers.  Older dancers who have permission to meet their “ride home” in the parking lot after the show, will be let out after the younger dancers and parents have moved on.
Dancers should come in costume for their first number.  Light makeup may be applied at home.  Dancers with more than one number will be assisted by volunteers for any costume changes.
Newmarket Theatre’s Operating Procedures insists that patrons refrain from entering and departing during a performance.  Theatre etiquette encourages that every performer deserves a full audience.
We look forward to another successful year-end performance and to every dancer – a dance well done!!

Sincerely, Nancy Dinner
