Dear Students and Parents,
What a great and challenging year we have had with a couple of busy months to go. Included here is a summary of important items and dates for you to mark on your calendar to take us to the end of the year. There are some changes to the year end shows this year, so please take note!
END OF YEAR PERFORMANCE
This year the shows will take place on one evening only
TUESDAY, JUNE 15, 2010
The 6 p.m. show - usually called MINI SHOW - will feature the Saturday morning dancers as well as all the weekday classes of 7-8 year olds.
The theatre will then clear out before the 8 p.m. show – RECITAL – and the remaining weekday dancers will perform. Class lists/show schedules will be posted.

TICKET SALES: starting MAY 25 - $15.00 EACH
Tickets will be sold through Newmarket Theatre only STARTING TUESDAY, MAY 25. There will be no tickets sold at Jaymor. You may visit the Newmarket Theatre box office in person (505 Pickering Crescent), order by phone (905-953-5122) or go online at www.newmarkettheatre.ca, click on NEWTIX. Online service charges will apply. Ticket limits may be applied to make sure that all families have an opportunity to attend. Please make sure you have confirmed sales of seats before purchasing; please do not over buy and leave seats empty –Also, try and pick up your tickets before show night so that performance start time is not delayed.
KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING WHEN YOU ORDER TICKETS:
Theatre regulations do not permit young children to sit in the same seat with an adult. All purchased tickets are numbered. All seats provide good viewing. Some Mini show performers (Saturday morning dancers) will sit with their class in the front rows of the audience and watch their shows. Dancers will not be able to join the audience at any time during the Recital performance. All Recital dancers (8 p.m. show) remain backstage during the entire performance. Please help us and respect that no one is allowed entrance to pick up dancers backstage until the performance ends. We cannot run a successful performance with added traffic through the backstage areas during the show.
EARLY REGISTRATION FOR FALL
Registration begins for September 2010 – June 2011 for Weekday and Saturday classes on: April 19th to June 19th

Class availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All students currently dancing at Jaymor are asked to fill out a registration form between now and Saturday, June 19th, even if you are unsure about returning in September. Completed forms are essential to enable us to organize class lists and to ensure a spot for your child/children. During the summer months, all students who have registered will receive their 2010-2011 class schedules by mail.
CLASS ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Weekly class attendance is always important, but especially at this time of year for practice and preparation for the year end show. Even one dancer missing makes it difficult for dance-mates and teacher to move ahead with a dance number; the smaller a class the tougher it gets! Please be punctual and present.

BRING A FRIEND! Week of Apr. 26-May 1
Any dancers with curious friends are invited to bring a friend to class during the week of Mon. April 26 to Sat. May 1/10 to experience dancing at Jaymor and have some fun. Speak to a teacher for further details.
AURORA AERIALS AUDITIONS
The Aurora Aerials is the name used for Jaymor’s competitive dancers. Some of the numbers will be performing at the Mini Show and Recital. Competitive Audition Day will be Friday June 4 at Jaymor after school. Your dancer’s teacher is the best resource for information and feedback regarding competitive dance. The audition schedule will be arranged in the near future.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
In order to provide adequate supervision and assistance for year-end, volunteers are urgently needed for the following:
MINI SHOW: 1 adult per 8-10 dancers to sit with/supervise classes in the audience and backstage during the entire performance.
RECITAL: 5 – 7 adults per entire performance to assist backstage with dressing room supervision, costume changes, hallway monitoring. Parents of competitive dancers are also encouraged to participate in this experience. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER WITH KAREN O., AT ANY TIME.
PICTURE DAY
Jaymor Picture Day will take place on Saturday, June 5th. Saturday morning dancers’ photos will be taken during their class times on Saturday morning. Weekday dancers’ schedule will be posted on the bulletin board with further information starting at 12 noon on the same day.
