Programs for all ages
Established in 1969, Jaymor School of Dancing teaches its students to enjoy the art of dance through the disciplines of ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics hip-hop and musical theater. Programs are available for pre-school ages through to the late teens, and also for adults.
- Creative dance classes, held on weekday and Saturday mornings, enable children 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old to explore dance through basic steps and exercises, with the help of various props, stories and mime.
- Dance classes for those aged four to six are offered on Saturday mornings. As bellet is the foundation of all dance, four-year-olds being with ballet only. After that, dancers may add or change to jazz, tap, or acrobatics.
- For dancers aged seven and older, classes are held from Monday to Friday, one hour per week per discipline, starting at 4:30pm. Dance exams may be taken, beginning at the primary level when the dancer is at least seven or eight years old.
- Dance classes are also offered for adults, including beginners as well as those who wish to brush up their dancing skills.
